This is so easy that I kind of feel like I’m cheating by creating its own recipe but it’s good enough for it so I’m sticking with it. I’m pescetarian (meaning I only eat seafood, no other meats… also called Pest-etarian or Veg-aquarium if you fancy a more humourous play on words) this means a lot of the recipes you see here have seafood in them so a good tar tar (dahhhling) sauce is a must! You can make this recipe in less than 5 mins and eat it straight away but if you want it to be more flavourful leave it covered in the fridge overnight to bring out all those scrumptious savoury aromas.
This recipe will serve 4 people sparingly or 2 people liberally, depending on how much sauce you like.
You will need:
- 2 tbsp good mayonnaise
- 1 small stuffed Iraq pickle (you could use any gherkin here preferably dill not sweet though) finely diced
- 3 tsp finely diced red onion
- 6 finely chopped capers
- pepper and lemon juice to taste
If you dont have Iraq or dill pickles to use you could substitute for any pickle and add some garlic chives as an extra, 1 teaspoon should be enough, just to give a hint of garlicky goodness.
There is only one step to this, chop it up, stir it up, eat it up.
